Ashleigh Hill Dressage

On Thursday evening my mum and I drove just 10 minutes down the road to have a catch up with Dressage rider Ashleigh Hill, Ashleigh is going to be my own horses foster mum whilst I finish up at University over winter (Good luck Ash 😏 ), my mum had never visited the yard or met Ashleigh before so it was a good opportunity for her to come and have a nosey and chat whilst I had the absolute pleasure of photographing Ashleigh newest bundle of joy, Dynamo, out of her own Taktiek STV (Jazz x Variant) and Diaggio (nice breeding or what?!). We arrived at the yard just at the right time, with the golden sun starting to set and come through the trees, a perfect setting really!

Ashleigh is an up and coming dressage rider based on a small, friendly yard in Five Oak Green, near Paddock Wood in Kent. As well as being a rider, she is also runs the yard as a successful livery business and stud. Ashleigh, despite not coming from a typically horsey background, has successfully produced horses up to PSG, coming up the levels through YR and Seniors.

She is absolutely passionate about producing the very best horses and is fascinated about the breeding process, she has already produced three higher first premium foals and one elite premium foal in the short time she has been running the stud, and she really has an eye for putting together the best blood lines for temperament and ride-ability (Maxi lacks both of these so we are hoping some of Ashleigh's horses might treat him to some lessons whilst he is there).

Every single one of her horses is a lovely person, they all love a kiss and a cuddle and what I love about Ashleigh is that she treats them like horses and not machines and I believe thats what can make or break a top horse.

Dynamo is already 99% sure he is king of the world even at just 2 weeks old, he just has the most amazing presence and struts out like a king with his beautiful long legs!

He wasn't quite sure why he was being dragged out at bed time to pose in the field, but seemed have a great time none the less, he impressed us with some interesting moves and showed off his already stunning paces, especially that canter and his newly developed trot. A little GP horse in the making I think (of course from my totally non expert opinion!). Although Ashleigh says he has taken to jumping plants in the field so maybe she will need to get her eventing cap on and whizz him round a BE80 when he's older haha!

Meeting Dynamo was a lovely end to a very long day, I think we could have watched him all night, he really is precious. I hope the images reflect his cheeky character and that Ashleigh likes them!

She currently has a very exciting homebred 3 yr old by Sir Donnerhall for sale if anyone is interested, Saffyre is a stunning little horse with a temperament to match, Ashleigh says she would love to have her own pet human to sit and give her cuddles all day!

Saffy was awarded higher first premium and Oldenburg Premium at Futurity . She has a fantastically elastic movement and is sure to make an incredible juniors horse. I really hope she finds a fantastic home

Ashleigh is a passionate, sympathetic rider and therefore if anyone is looking for stud services, schooling livery or lessons I really do highly recommend her.
